Overview
The mission of California State University, San Bernardino is to enhance the intellectual, cultural and personal development of its students. CSU San Bernardino serves the educational needs of inland Southern California, one of the nation’s fastest growing regions, and the state of California by offering a wide range of academic programs and support services.
The mission of the Ed.D. Program is to prepare educational leaders with (a) an advanced, broad and in-depth knowledge base, (b) advanced skills to effectively build and sustain meaningful and purposeful relationships with constituents and (c) well informed and broad based dispositions needed to effectuate reform efforts that result in improved student achievement. At CSUSB, our doctoral program prides itself in preparing candidates who can implement positive and sustaining school reform.
CSUSB’s doctoral program
· Is designed to equip well-prepared leaders with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to bring about successful reform efforts in California’s Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 schools,
· Is focused on practice and applies research tools to the challenges administrators confront in real world contexts,
· Prepares PreK-12 educational leaders within a framework of both common and distinctive issues affecting education,
· Involves distinguished faculty with varied disciplinary perspectives in coursework examining research, theory, and significant field-based problems and
· Includes outstanding professional leaders who serve in instructional and mentoring roles.
Recognizing the growth and diversity in our school systems today, the Ed.D. Program at CSUSB prepares candidates to be outstanding educational leaders in rural, urban and suburban school settings and to make sound decisions within the broader context of equity and social justice.
